The effect of yoga on the recovery of patients who have undergone a lung resection for primary lung cancer

There is increasing evidence of the benefits of exercise after cancer treatment to help reduce the side effects and improve people’s quality of life and survival. This is an important component of the Recovery Package which encourages cancer teams to promote physical activity as part of a healthy lifestyle and to help manage the consequences of treatment. This article describes a feasibility study that examined yoga as an intervention after treatment for lung cancer and shows that there were improvements in participants’ overall quality of life and lung function tests.
