<p>It is an essential part of the clinical nurse specialist’s role to ensure that each individual is assessed to establish how much information should be provided and when. This article considers research into the information needs of women with cancer, and describes how clinical nurse specialists working in gynaecological oncology sought to assess and improve the quality of information they gave to patients with ovarian cancer.</p>
