<p>Although breast cancer is uncommon in men, it can cause significant morbidity and mortality. While treatment and management of female breast cancer has been widely researched, male breast cancer remains a relatively unknown entity. Thus, most of our current knowledge regarding the biology, natural history and treatment of male breast cancer has been extrapolated from female breast cancer. A greater emphasis on male breast cancer is needed to improve the outlook for this disease.</p>
