The nurse’s role in HIFU therapy for prostate cancer
<p>The efficacy of high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) as a minimally invasive therapy for the treatment of localised prostate cancers has been demonstrated over the past decade. This article describes the nurse specialist’s role in the preparation, support and follow-up of 56 men who underwent the procedure as private patients at a London-based hospital over a 15 month period.</p>
