The vital role of nurses in the care of oesophageal cancer patients

<p>Oesophageal cancer is an aggressive disease with the potential to metastasise early. Because the disease tends to remain silent until late in its course, the majority of patients present with metastasis, making care largely palliative. This article looks at the treatment of oesophageal cancer patients with ECX chemotherapy, and the important role that nurses play in patients’ physical and psychological wellbeing.</p>
