Not so minor head injuries?

The brain is the most commonly injured region of the central nervous system (1) with head injuries accounting for the largest population of patients seen in AE (2). In East Anglia, a recent audit of head injuries showed that 3,947 patients arrived in casualty for treatment of minor head injuries over a three month period. Of these patients, 3,926 (99.5 per cent) did not require admission to hospital and were diagnosed fit enough to go home.
