Nurse practitioners in A&E: a literature review
<p> The emergency nurse practitioner’s role provides a new complementary minor injury service to that currently provided by A&E medical staff. Clinical decisions made by ENPs, when compared with those made by A&E medical practitioners, are shown to be safe and effective. Patients’ satisfaction with ENP services is shown to be high, and patients appreciate the more relaxed style of consultation offered by nurse practitioners.</p>
