New NHS nursing uniforms have made senior nurses ‘more visible’
Senior nursing staff working at a trust in Greater Manchester have recently adopted the new national NHS uniform for England in a bid to give matrons and ward leaders clearer leadership status, following patient and staff feedback about having clearer uniforms to identify different nursing staff. The two-piece ‘smart scrub tunic’ comes in a variety of colours. The senior staff ‘like the professional identity that comes with the uniforms’, and other nursing staff at the trust will get the new uniforms as part of the national rollout
