Why services for children and families are crying out for more investment
The Joseph Roundtree Foundation reports that 4.3 million children in the UK live in poverty, and researchers found that children between five and 18 years are more likely to develop mental health problems if the firstborn child in their family experienced adversity in their first 1,000 days of life. There is a huge case for more investment in children’s services and nursing to support early interventions from health visitors and primary care.
