Caring for older people who have a hearing disability
Hearing disability in older people is the cause of much distress and can result in the person affected withdrawing from social contact either through an inability to hear or because of the embarrassment that the hearing impairment causes. There is, however, a great deal that nurses can do to ensure hearing disability in patients and nursing home residents is kept to a minimum.
