Access to evaluated research for nurses: This week, we report on a South and West Region Project, aiming to inform and improve access to evaluated research findings for all NHS professionals.
<p>Since its inception in 1991, the NHS Executive Research and Development Strategy has aimed to “secure a knowledge-based health service” and “maximise the effectiveness, efficiency and appropriateness of patient services” where “clinical, managerial and policy decisions are based on sound and pertinent information and research findings and technological advance.” (NHS Management Executive, 1991).</p>
