<p>This article describes the authors’ work in setting up a team mentoring system for nursing students on practice placements. The benefits include the ability to share responsibility for mentoring among clinicians and the exposure of students to a greater diversity of practice and teaching styles. Good communication is identified as crucial to effective implementation, while poor communication can be a potential barrier to the success of team mentoring.</p>
