After reading this article, the nurse should be able to:</p> □ <p>Define the aims of care for individuals with diabetes U Identify symptoms and causes of hypoglycaemia</p> □ <p>Suggest w'ays to prevent or minimise the risk of hypoglycaemia</p> □ <p>Treat hypoglycaemia effectively</p> □ <p>Educate patients regarding hypoglycaemia and identify when to involve the diabetes specialist nurse.</p>
