<p> THE CO-ORDINATING Centre was conceived through a need for an infrastructure for R&D. Its website [www.man.ac.uk/rcn/] aims to actas a 'one-stop-shop' for the collation and dissemination of knowledge and information about nursing research and practice development. The RCN Research Society [www.man.ac.uk/rcn/rs/] is keen for its strategic direction and activities to be more transparent to the membership, and the internet has been a very good way of raising its profile.</p>
