<p>This article discusses the findings of a scholarship project aimed at gaining an understanding of the health needs of African and Caribbean older people and determining how these service-users perceive their needs are being met. It found that while practitioners were generally keen to provide a culturally appropriate service, some users thought their knowledge, attitudes and skills, particularly in communication, were a major source of concern.</p>
