Demystifying the Internet: a guide for nurses
<p>If you spend an hour on the World Wide Web, you will begin to appreciate the dearth of knowledge at your fingertips in other media (Winship and McNab 1996). The Internet is a way of connecting to millions of computers and information systems. It has been called a virtual community, in which nurses can discuss their work and meet other nurses. It has many uses for nurses, especially the e-mail, acting as a conduit for research, searching for new information on health, sharing ideas and for networking with others.</p>
