Irreplaceable: where would the NHS be without internationally educated nurses?

Nurses recruited from overseas have long been essential to the NHS. Internationally educated nurses make up a significant proportion of the NHS workforce and with UK nursing student numbers in decline, demand for this expertise  remains strong. Yet tighter UK health and social care visa rules seem to have had a chilling effect on nurse immigration.
