Band 8 revamp boosts incentive for nurses to take the step up
Changes to Agenda for Change band 8 pay scale mean nurses in senior leadership roles in the NHS can now progress more quickly. Band 8 has been restructured to encourage more nurses and other staff to seek promotion from band 7, a move up that means loss of unsocial and overtime pay. The changes are backdated to 1 April and are expected to appear in November salaries.
