Struck off: nurse who botched injection and mishandled drugs after lying at interview
Nurse who got a job with an NHS community health provider after dishonestly claiming two years’ experience at interview has been struck off the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) register. Ranjit Pallikonda’s ward manager became concerned about the nurse’s clinical competence when she observed examples of unsafe practice. When she asked Mr Pallikonda’s about his clinical skills, the nurse told her his claim at interview of two years’ nursing experience in India had been untrue, an NMC fitness to practise panel heard. The panel found Mr Pallikonda had put patients at risk of significant harm and showed lack of insight into his actions.
