Nurses say they cannot afford to go to work after an NHS hospital trust scrapped weekly car parking tickets for staff, forcing them to pay £20 a day to park at work. Staff working at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham have to pay up to £100 a week to use the visitor car parks, as the hospital tries to clamp down on staff parking in patient and visitor car parks. It cites patients missing appointments due to lack of car parking spaces as the reason for the change.
