UK nursing student enrolments on to nursing degrees courses are down, as a nursing academic and a nursing union leader call for better financial support to ensure nursing degrees are affordable for undergraduates. While acceptances for degree programmes among UK-based students show downward trend, data for entrolments that take account of students arriving from overseas show slight increase. Numbers fall far short of the projected nursing student places to be available by 2032, as pledged in the NHS Long Term Workforce Plan.
