Reflective journalling for students: what are the benefits and where do I start?
Keeping a journal can help nursing students to process difficult experiences, reflect on clinical practice and track their personal growth. It encourages critical thinking by helping students to analyse and learn from their experiences – both good and bad – while studying and on clinical placement. Developing a reflective journalling habit can enhance your practice once you are registered, and reflective practice is also a requirement of revalidation with the NMC.
