Embedding simulated practice in a pre-registration nursing curriculum

Simulated practice is one example of an education programme that tests and reviews a nursing student’s ability to carry out safe and effective care. The protected environment allows students to explore all aspects of their role, and to understand the implications of poor practice. Frameworks to support the development of simulation processes are vital. This article, the first in a two-part series, discusses the use of simulated practice at the University of Derby for pre-registration nursing students.
