As diabetes becomes a global concern, an international congress of 183 diabetes experts from 54 countries has produced a set of international recommendations for optimum insulin injection technique. The recommendations cover diabetes injection technique and its complications including needle length, site rotation, lipohypertrophy and how to prevent them, as well as the role of the healthcare professional in educating patients on best practice.
