Motor neurone disease (MND) is a rare progressive neurological condition for which there is no known cause or cure. Degeneration of muscle function leads to weakness and wasting, which causes difficulty with mobility, speech, swallowing and breathing. This article aims to give nurses working in primary health care teams confidence when caring for people with the disease and show them where to seek advice and information.
