Choice-making for people with a learning disability

<p>Facilitating choice is one of the identified key roles for learning disability nurses (Kay et al 1995). Increasing choice is closely related to the development of personal autonomy in people who have a learning disability: Kay et al (op. cit.) suggest that “the purpose of nursing for people with learning disability is to work in partnership with the individual to improve his or her personal autonomy”.</p>
