<p>Dementia is an issue of growing importance in services for people with learning disabilities as a result of the UK’s ageing population. The literature on dementia and people with learning disabilities focuses mainly on assessment and diagnosis, and there is a paucity of research into issues affecting care. This article presents the results of a county-wide audit into the suitability of the physical environment of care homes for people with learning disabilities who later develop dementia.</p>
