Epilepsy affects one in five people with learning disabilities, and staff in community settings need to feel confident about supporting them. Following repeated requests from care home staff for information about the associated risks of epilepsy for people with learning disabilities, an epilepsy special interest group developed guidance to support assessments and ensure service users are included in the assessment process. This article describes the guidance.
