Improving annual health checks for service users
This article describes a one-year Commission for Quality and Innovation project in two clinical commissioning groups (CCGs) in the south of England. The two CCGs commissioned an NHS foundation trust, which provides services for adults with learning disabilities, to increase the quality and quantity of annual health checks for people with learning disabilities. It explains how the project engaged with GP practices, and identified the areas of good practice and the challenges faced in primary care in the delivery of annual health checks.
