Managing sleep problems in children
<p>Persistent sleep disturbance is common among children and young people with an intellectual impairment, but the issue has rarely been addressed. A child and adolescent learning disability service in north Wales uses five effective approaches for the assessment and management of sleep problems.</p> <p>Improved education of health professionals in this area, the development of more dedicated sleep clinics and further research into the long-term effectiveness of these approaches are recommended.</p>
