<p>The life expectancy of people with Down syndrome has increased dramatically over the last 50 years and this has highlighted the susceptibility of these individuals to develop dementia of the Alzheimer’s type. The authors were aware of the growing need for information regarding people with Down syndrome who may develop Alzheimer’s disease and an application was submitted to run a Health Action Zone (HAZ) fellowship project in Bradford.
