Person-centred plans: empowering or controlling?

<p>Person-centred planning is not an activity ‘done’ to people with an intellectual disability; rather it is about the person taking the lead with those who are important to them (Duffy and Sanderson 2004). This involves helping people to communicate what is important to them, supporting them to get what they need and ensuring they are in control of their own lives.</p>
