Promoting annual health checks through community outreach
<p>Although people with a learning disability have greater health needs than the general population, they are less likely to access health care. Swansea People First peer advocacy group addressed this issue at an annual fair promoting health and wellbeing, including simple information and checks offered by community learning disability nurses. Results are provided to individuals in an accessible format with, if indicated, a letter for their GP.</p>
