<p>While the number of people with learning disability living into old age is increasing, little is known about how older people with a learning disability view their changing needs or how service providers respond to their users’ advancing years. In November 1998 an inter-agency workshop was held in Cornwall to discuss the age related needs of people with a learning disability. This was well attended, with representatives from the statutory and independent sectors and, as a result a multi agency working party was formed, co-ordinated by Mencap.</p>
