substance misuse and the need for integrated services
<p>Developing services for people with learning disabilities who misuse alcohol or drugs is not a seen as a priority by providers. Few researchers have focused on the aetiology, prevention and treatment of alcohol and drug abuse in this area (McGillicuddy and Blane 1999). As a result, there is a paucity of data regarding prevalence and severity of such problems in the UK.</p>
