Evaluation of a study day on child and adolescent mental health services
Child and adolescent mental health is a specialty that can fall between children’s and mental health nursing, with neither specialty including a significant amount of teaching on the subject in their undergraduate programmes. To address this, a study day was run as a collaborative venture involving students from child and mental health fields of nursing. Clinicians from a range of child and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS) were involved in running interactive workshops, and students given the opportunity to find out more about how CAMHS is relevant to them. Following positive evaluation, it is envisaged that similar study days will be offered in the future.
