Learning to be a transformational leader
This article is an extended personal reflection on the context of learning and leading learning from the author’s perspective as a mental health nurse and clinical manager. It considers the roles of adviser and agent of change for personal and professional development of staff and students undergoing professional training and education. The article draws on the author’s experiences to offer insights into learning and leadership of learning integrated into a cohesive narrative. It focuses on models of leadership, role modelling, the effect of policy on the context of learning, leading learning and how to engage learners in critical thinking.
