Telling tales – mental health nurses can write fiction

This article examines the idea of mental health nurses as writers of fiction. It considers how fiction can perpetuate stigma and present mental health nursing in a negative light, and discusses how it can counter these problems. The article also examines reflective practice and the therapeutic benefits of writing fiction, and suggests that the two are compatible. The article concludes that the space into which mental health nurse writers could go is a potentially productive one.
